Explore Federal and Provincial Immigration Routes

Canada provides a variety of immigration pathways, each with specific work experience requirements. Among these, the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) stands out as the primary route for skilled immigrants seeking a Canada PR Visa. To qualify for the FSWP, applicants must possess work experience in one of the eligible occupations listed in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) system.

Minimum Requirements for a Canada PR Visa

To apply for a PR visa in Canada, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Work Experience: A minimum of one year of continuous work experience or equivalent part-time work in one of the 347 eligible occupations listed in the NOC within the last ten years.
  • Age: Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • FSWP Assessment: Attain a minimum score of 67 out of 100 on the FSWP assessment grid.
  • Language Proficiency: An IELTS score of at least 6 in each band.
  • Financial Stability: Proof of sufficient funds for settlement.
  • Clearance Certificates: Submission of a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) and passing a medical examination.

Selecting the right occupation is crucial for your Canada Immigration application, as it affects your eligibility and point scoring for selection. Eligible occupations are categorized into Skilled Levels ‘0’, ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, and ‘D’, impacting applicants’ eligibility differently:

  • Level ‘0’: Managerial Occupations
  • Level ‘A’: Professional Occupations
  • Level ‘B’: Technical Occupations
  • Level ‘C’: Semi & Low-Skilled Occupations
  • Level ‘D’: Semi & Low-Skilled Occupations

Currently, occupations under Levels ‘0’, ‘A,’ and ‘B’ are prioritized in the Canada Immigration process.
